The chair is the most redesigned object next to the automobile. This creates difficulties for many designers because not only does it have to look good but it also must feel good. This stool was commissioned by the Mayor of Oakville, Ontario as an award collaborating the business and arts. The design came after studying a geographical map of the town and is based on the intersection of a waterway and its relationship to the railroad system. For many years the town relied on this waterway to transport lumber until the railway became more efficient, hence the use of wood and metal.
